A man who spiked treats with sedative and distributed them to children at a summer camp in the area has confessed to sexual offenses against two young males aged between nine and ten.

Jon Ruben was taken into custody after eight minors and a grown-up experienced illness at the facility in July.

The senior citizen, from the Nottinghamshire area, admitted guilt to a series of 17 offences when he was present at Leicester Crown Court on Friday.

Yet, he disputed one of the sexual offences he was accused of, which was involving a nine-year-old boy.

The accused was held in detention prior to a additional proceeding on November 28th.

'Candy game'

The legal representative, presenting evidence, described the criminal behavior to the court.

She explained his victims were children from difficult backgrounds who were participating in a summer camp which he managed.

Ruben engaged in a "treat game" with the children, the prosecutor said, in which he would go into the sleeping quarters when they were preparing to sleep and tell them to ingest treats "as fast as possible".

She stated to the judge the defendant had conducted this practice with the children "over an extended period", and youngsters had previously become sick the subsequent day.

She explained the defendant had been successful in rationalizing this over a long period as the children being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his family member had worries in recently.

The prosecutor added: "Recently" his family member had suspicions about what was going on, justifiably.

"They resolved" to investigate in the individual's items."

The prosecutor explained items including lubricant, Vaseline and injection devices were discovered, and his stepchild contacted the authorities about his concerns.

She explained the defendant went on to conduct the "treat game" with six youngsters that time - July 26th - and they were all sick the next day.

"Law enforcement" had not responded by that time," she added.

The oversight body, the police conduct office, earlier informed that it was examining law enforcement's management of the situation.

Mrs Prior stated the minors were having difficulty walking due to being ill, so the family member contacted the police once more.

She explained the man then played the "treat game" in a room of five children.
